The style itself shouldn't have any effect on that. Are you sure you have announcements active? If so, are they active for the forum you're looking at. I'd say to get technical support from vBulletin if it's still not working.
how would i upgrade this ?
If you haven't made any modifications at all to your style, you could just delete your current Kirsch style and upload this new one. If you have made modifications, upload this style as a seperate style, and then just add in your old information. Nothing was copy/pasted from the old styles into this new style as that's sort of against the purpose. It's a lot easier than it sounds.
thanks Yarub. Will give it a try
I merged it with the previous version (VB 3.6 beta 3) and it seems like it works.
I haven't seen any errors (yet). |
Glad to hear it. =D There are very few differences between the two styles, but I figured that it's bestter to have a clean style than to have a "fixer-upper" down the road.
this is probably a newbie question but why do i keep getting a "thumb.adb" error when trying to upload to my server. it doesnt happen all the time, just with some styles.
Nice, cool skin. I wished there was a modern (Techy) version of this.

Your included PSDs only have one button, one status icon, and so forth. I'd like a version for a black background, but I can't make one with just a few example PSDs.
Those PSDs were created soley for updating this style alone. They're designed so that when vBulletin adds a new button, such as multiquote, the file is right there for you to type in a new word. The only PSDs included in this ZIP file are those that we used to create custom images. Otherwise, most of the images in Kirsch are default, while the style itself is compiled of various new color schemes.
I'm sorry. You're more than capable of using the statusicons that are not within that statusicon PSD and just editing them in PhotoShop, or whatever else you use. They should show as transparent. |
Got it installed Yarub.
Hope u released a new one with Tech styles like vbskinworks :) |
I don't understand the meaning of tech style.
^Meaning technology. The world of computerized? Basically, examples like

Kirsch is just a simple style, and that's why I like it so much. I have no intention of creating a more-complicated style of it, but I will continue to keep it updated with each vBulletin release.
Thank's,
Just Downloaded this style :) |
Tonight is my night for feeling like a total moron - but what do you mean by fluid & fixed forums? I have never seen those terms before & don't know which xml to upload when I'm installing the template. I searched with Google and couldn't find an explanation either :(
nevermind - I think I finally understand it - I just didn't know fluid is what people call resizable lol now I can't figure out how to get it to show as the default template for the forum /sigh |
Fixed means that it's 760 pixels wide and is centered on the browser. Fluid means that the sides of the forum span across the entire browser.
I Love This Skin.
Simple But Effective Thanks. |
I finally figured out where to find the switch.
I'm setting the forums up that I've imported to vBulletin from phpBB2, and while I *love* vBulletin, I'm getting really frustrated at times feeling like a total idiot not being able to find some of this stuff. This style is really nice. :) I like the letter icons in particular. |
Haha. Thanks. The vBulletin software is definitely one of the most advanced php scripts I've ever seen and used. There's a lot to it, but you'll get used to it over time. You'll definitely be happy with it.
Do you happen to know off the top of your head how I can fix this? I added a mod for spacing the forums and it did this. I thought I'd post here in case you knew better how to answer than the people who did the spacing mod since it's your style. :)
I'm honestly not sure. The forumhome in Kirsch is identical to the default style. The creators of that modification should know how to fix it.
I must have done something wrong then :)
It may just be me - I'm new to VB. But in the screenshot the user details are at the left hand side of the post, but in my install they're above. How do I change this?
AdminCP => vBulletin Options => vBulletin Options => Styles & Language Settings => Legacy Posbit => Yes
Nice style. Could you please add a button for "Thanks" & multi quotes?

Many thanks! I did find the multi quote in th package.
Could someone tell me the CSS color codes for Kirsch or point me in the right direction?
Thanks! |
They're all listed in the "All Style Options" under Style Manager.
good job
any problems with the multiquote feature?
multiquote works fine in Default Style ... but not in Kirsch ... any idea what could be done? thanks. |
It seems to be working fine on my board. Are you using the most recent version? Are you using any modifications that may effect the postbit or may effect it in any other way?
Thanks Yarub ... I guess the problem was caused because of the upgrade process.
I have used 3.5.4 vbulletin and Kirsch version for that release. When I upgraded the vbulletin board to ver 3.6, I did not delete the older version of Kirsch and I simply imported the new one on top of the old one. That's when the problem appeard. To fix this, I deleted the older version of Kirsch .. and installed the new one. Now it is working fine. thanks. |
Glad to hear you got it working. It also bugs me that the multiqote function is so fine-tuned that it was unable to work with such a minor upgrade. Let's picket!
That style rocks, thanks!
Is anyone help me to change the forum background's color ... white background is a bit bored for me ... but yeah i like this style .. ?
Thanks so much ! |
In the All Style Options, it's listed as Page Background.
