The style itself shouldn't have any effect on that. Are you sure you have announcements active? If so, are they active for the forum you're looking at. I'd say to get technical support from vBulletin if it's still not working.

soletrader 08-08-2006 03:39 AM

how would i upgrade this ?

evenmonkeys 08-08-2006 03:51 AM

If you haven't made any modifications at all to your style, you could just delete your current Kirsch style and upload this new one. If you have made modifications, upload this style as a seperate style, and then just add in your old information. Nothing was copy/pasted from the old styles into this new style as that's sort of against the purpose. It's a lot easier than it sounds.

soletrader 08-08-2006 04:31 AM

thanks Yarub. Will give it a try

993ti 08-08-2006 02:08 PM

I merged it with the previous version (VB 3.6 beta 3) and it seems like it works.
I haven't seen any errors (yet).

evenmonkeys 08-08-2006 04:53 PM

Glad to hear it. =D There are very few differences between the two styles, but I figured that it's bestter to have a clean style than to have a "fixer-upper" down the road.

rocketrex 08-08-2006 07:05 PM

this is probably a newbie question but why do i keep getting a "thumb.adb" error when trying to upload to my server. it doesnt happen all the time, just with some styles.

I||usi0nz 08-08-2006 09:25 PM

Nice, cool skin. I wished there was a modern (Techy) version of this.

I know that my style has a thumb in it, but I'm not sure why it'd effect your upload. How are you uploading your files? I think the reason it might be doing that is because of the type of uploading you're using. To be honest, I doubt I'll be able to help ya, but let me know how you upload your files and with what application if applicable. I might be able to help ya out.

Ian Montgomerie 08-09-2006 03:39 AM

Your included PSDs only have one button, one status icon, and so forth. I'd like a version for a black background, but I can't make one with just a few example PSDs.

evenmonkeys 08-09-2006 04:35 AM

Those PSDs were created soley for updating this style alone. They're designed so that when vBulletin adds a new button, such as multiquote, the file is right there for you to type in a new word. The only PSDs included in this ZIP file are those that we used to create custom images. Otherwise, most of the images in Kirsch are default, while the style itself is compiled of various new color schemes.

I'm sorry. You're more than capable of using the statusicons that are not within that statusicon PSD and just editing them in PhotoShop, or whatever else you use. They should show as transparent.

I||usi0nz 08-10-2006 05:20 AM

Got it installed Yarub.
Hope u released a new one with Tech styles like vbskinworks :)

evenmonkeys 08-10-2006 06:19 AM

I don't understand the meaning of tech style.

I||usi0nz 08-10-2006 09:58 AM

^Meaning technology. The world of computerized? Basically, examples like

http://vbskinworks.com/forum/index.php?styleid=240

evenmonkeys 08-10-2006 05:54 PM

Kirsch is just a simple style, and that's why I like it so much. I have no intention of creating a more-complicated style of it, but I will continue to keep it updated with each vBulletin release.

kevinj 08-10-2006 06:14 PM

Thank's,

Just Downloaded this style :)

Moonkat 08-12-2006 02:16 AM

Tonight is my night for feeling like a total moron - but what do you mean by fluid & fixed forums? I have never seen those terms before & don't know which xml to upload when I'm installing the template. I searched with Google and couldn't find an explanation either :(

nevermind - I think I finally understand it - I just didn't know fluid is what people call resizable

lol now I can't figure out how to get it to show as the default template for the forum /sigh

evenmonkeys 08-12-2006 02:22 AM

Fixed means that it's 760 pixels wide and is centered on the browser. Fluid means that the sides of the forum span across the entire browser.

Orphadox 08-12-2006 02:30 AM

I Love This Skin.
Simple But Effective
Thanks.

Moonkat 08-12-2006 02:32 AM

I finally figured out where to find the switch.

I'm setting the forums up that I've imported to vBulletin from phpBB2, and while I *love* vBulletin, I'm getting really frustrated at times feeling like a total idiot not being able to find some of this stuff.

This style is really nice. :) I like the letter icons in particular.

evenmonkeys 08-12-2006 02:36 AM

Haha. Thanks. The vBulletin software is definitely one of the most advanced php scripts I've ever seen and used. There's a lot to it, but you'll get used to it over time. You'll definitely be happy with it.

Moonkat 08-12-2006 07:48 AM

Do you happen to know off the top of your head how I can fix this? I added a mod for spacing the forums and it did this. I thought I'd post here in case you knew better how to answer than the people who did the spacing mod since it's your style. :)

evenmonkeys 08-12-2006 08:18 AM

I'm honestly not sure. The forumhome in Kirsch is identical to the default style. The creators of that modification should know how to fix it.

Moonkat 08-12-2006 10:17 AM

I must have done something wrong then :)

Moria123 08-12-2006 12:22 PM

It may just be me - I'm new to VB. But in the screenshot the user details are at the left hand side of the post, but in my install they're above. How do I change this?

evenmonkeys 08-12-2006 09:58 PM

AdminCP => vBulletin Options => vBulletin Options => Styles & Language Settings => Legacy Posbit => Yes

webspider 08-14-2006 01:43 PM

Nice style. Could you please add a button for "Thanks" & multi quotes?

webspider 08-14-2006 04:44 PM

Many thanks! I did find the multi quote in th package.

specmav 08-14-2006 09:32 PM

Could someone tell me the CSS color codes for Kirsch or point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

evenmonkeys 08-14-2006 09:36 PM

They're all listed in the "All Style Options" under Style Manager.

SparKeh 08-14-2006 11:15 PM

good job

jazz_aaf 08-15-2006 09:24 AM

any problems with the multiquote feature?

multiquote works fine in Default Style ... but not in Kirsch ... any idea what could be done?

thanks.

evenmonkeys 08-15-2006 06:20 PM

It seems to be working fine on my board. Are you using the most recent version? Are you using any modifications that may effect the postbit or may effect it in any other way?

jazz_aaf 08-16-2006 02:06 AM

Thanks Yarub ... I guess the problem was caused because of the upgrade process.

I have used 3.5.4 vbulletin and Kirsch version for that release.

When I upgraded the vbulletin board to ver 3.6, I did not delete the older version of Kirsch and I simply imported the new one on top of the old one. That's when the problem appeard.

To fix this, I deleted the older version of Kirsch .. and installed the new one. Now it is working fine.

thanks.

evenmonkeys 08-16-2006 05:16 AM

Glad to hear you got it working. It also bugs me that the multiqote function is so fine-tuned that it was unable to work with such a minor upgrade. Let's picket!

reteep 08-16-2006 08:52 AM

That style rocks, thanks!

shadesvn 08-16-2006 12:17 PM

Is anyone help me to change the forum background's color ... white background is a bit bored for me ... but yeah i like this style .. ?

Thanks so much !

evenmonkeys 08-16-2006 04:32 PM

In the All Style Options, it's listed as Page Background.
