Well if it messes up some hack on your templates, all you have to do is click "Uncompress Templates". Nothing this hack does is "permanent"; it can always be reverted.

I am working on some issues with very rare instances of problems, but in general its pretty compatible with everything.

Corriewf 02-11-2006 08:39 AM

VERY NICE! Much faster now in combo with your plugin accelerator! Thanks.

HC. 02-11-2006 09:08 AM

great hack way faster than I have ever seen I need to try the plugin hack now

chairman miaow 02-11-2006 09:41 AM

Very nice - it's certainly made it faster !

Great mod, but it removes some of my tables and some templates it can't compress.

It saus bad template by my phpinclude and these 2 tables disappear:

Total members that have visited the forum today:

and

Members currently using Flashchat

memorex 02-11-2006 12:34 PM

Great mod, but can't use till the issue with the shoutbox is resolved. Thanx, will be keeping an eye on this one.

Have you tried identifying which templates those parts of the site are using, add them to the $bad_t array, it is there for a reason.

Trigunflame 02-11-2006 08:31 PM

Updated Template Compressor:

1. Changed setting location, you now modify them in the Admin Control Panel under Template Compressor Settings; there you can specify the templates to ignore.

2. Flashchat, others sometimes cause problems; so by default a few vbchat templates are listed in the ignore setting.

3. If you have problems with any other hacks not showing, trying add the 'forumhome' template to the ignore setting and recompress your templates.

Thanks.

These tables are in forumhome I believe which should already be on the list.

Dark_D 02-12-2006 12:18 AM

I had to add the 'forumhome' to the $bad_t array, and everything looks cool.
It works great so thank you for your work.

Yep. That fixed it. Now, going to add the plugin acelerator, then recompress. Going to see what the difference is.

Did you add forumhome to the bad array list?

ive added 'forumhome' to the bad array list; however, when compressing I still see forumhome_vbshout being compressed even though it is already in the ignore list and my shoutbox fails to show up once i run this hack.

Make sure you are using the absolutely last release from the zip File.
You can change the "ignore templates" config file from the vbulletin settings now.

Just go there and add forumhome to the list (with a space as directed).

Trigunflame 02-12-2006 02:47 AM

Ps. Sorry everyone, I forgot to upload the new zip file that adds support for making bad template modifications from the control panel settings editor.

To Upgrade:

Uninstall product, Reinstall product using new Product xml file. Replace old php code with the newer php code listed in install.txt and use the hack as usual.

This mod also messes up https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=101368

I don't even know what templates i would have to ignore to get that working when templates are compressed.

Try adding the templates that the hack uses.

Smiry Kin's 02-12-2006 01:59 PM

just a baisc page went from
[page compression: 24.84 k/30.13 k (17.56%)]
to
[page compression: 25.06 k/26.07 k (3.84%)]

so its taken like 4.00k off.. lol nice..

seems to work fine with the compressor, but is it better then the compresser? or not?? its weird..

another test, different page.

[page compression: 19.67 k/23.04 k (14.65%)]
to
[page compression: 19.63 k/20.43 k (3.92%)]

that one saved abit more....

shame it messes up the gallery :(:(

maybe add an option to choose forums in which will only be compressed??

same feature [compress][/compress]?

Zia 02-12-2006 02:11 PM

But how do u get this info about compresson? this modification didnt show any msg footer of the msg .... :surprised:

I installed exactly as the instruction, but I still don't see where I can put in templates to ignore. Only "Compress Templates" & "Uncompress Templates".

You can goto the template compressor options in the vbulletin options area in admin cp to add the templates to ignore.

I got it working by switching back to 4.1 sence I knew I could just add to the bad templayt array there. That worked for me.

Thanx for a wonderfull addition to my forums. Awesome!

NuclioN 02-12-2006 05:25 PM

I've ... looked for the new navigation bit "Template Compressor" but can't find it. :( The Template compressor in the vb options is there but the 'compress template' to save and set ... not! select "Compress Templates" is not there.

Thanks, I looked into VB Options before, but I missed the line :disappointed:

Smiry Kin's 02-12-2006 06:13 PM

i had these on my list.:
editor_jsoptions_font editor_jsoptions_size phpinclude_start phpinclude_end forumhome_vbshout forumhome_vbshout_shout
photoplog_cat_bit
photoplog_cat_list
photoplog_comment_form
photoplog_delete_form
photoplog_edit_form
photoplog_error_page
photoplog_file_bit
photoplog_file_list
photoplog_letter_bar
photoplog_rate_bit
photoplog_remove_form
photoplog_rate_list
photoplog_subcat_bar
photoplog_sub_navbar
photoplog_upload_form
photoplog_view_file

and gallery still doesnt work

vampireus 02-12-2006 06:46 PM

For ex : template marquee on template forumhome. After compression, marquee not show up, then you should put both marquee & forumhome in ignored list.

My case not like the example, not like yours; but another hack

Bro you have to put a "space" between each template, not a line break.

Hey guys!

Dropping in late ;)

Got the vBShout working?
My guess is the shoutbox vanishes, because the PlugIn of vBShout uses HTML comments in the FORUMHOME template for a search/replace to hook itself in there at runtime.

If those comments get compressed out it doesn't find it's spots to place itself in.

I didn't take a look yet how my RegEx have been integrated in this, but in my realtime compressor all (and only, to keep compression high) comments containing a "[" are ingnored/left.
This was initially to get compatibility with AnyMedia, but can also be used to make other needed HTML comment "immun" to the compression.

Maybe this 2ct help a bit :)

Cheers
