The problem is that the plugin x-mplayer2 (something like that) to play the .wmv files cannot be downloaded automatically from firefox...An when i try to make it manually there is no plugin for this...

PtP 01-26-2006 09:22 PM

Not sure what the issue is but I recieve this error when I post or edit a post using the media bbcode.

Let me add that the bbcode does appear to work correctly though and the error does not show when the post is viewed at a later time.

Code:

Warning: in_array(): Wrong datatype for second argument in /includes/class_bbcode.php(1631) : eval()'d code on line 159

I converted a small avi to wmv and it was fine in FF 1.50 for me, well it was when I put the address in and not just the filename. :D But the quality was not to good. What ver FF you using, not that it should matter really between 1.0x and 1.5 xmplayer is not a plugin well not in windows anyway cant be sure on nix but I think its just how its named becasue FF is as much if not more for nix than win32 and xmplayer is a nix app like wmp. In windows it shud use the wmp embed I think

You can also get a mediaconnecter plugin for FF (win) which you can set to other apps ie vlcplayer etc for certain filetypes. You should not need it for embedded wmv's to work tho.

I got this also, although the basic functionality does appear to be working well so far.

Second problem: I turned off Autoplay, but a WMV still autoplays.

I also have had this problem, not sure where the error is?

Regardz :)

whitetigergrowl 01-30-2006 03:32 AM

The error appears to be coming from when you turn off the option in the Admin CP 'AnyMedia BB Options' for 'Whether to show the download link'. Something needs to be fixed for that. When I turn it on everything seems fine.

Okay
I'm seeing into it.
:nervous:

Crist 01-30-2006 03:40 PM

Oh yeah,
I fixed it.

One who gets the error like
Code:

Warning: in_array(): Wrong datatype for second argument in /includes/class_bbcode.php(1631) : eval()'d code on line 159
may import the XML file again to fix the bug,
I've updated the zip pack already.

I'll release a new version soon,
with some restrictions.

whitetigergrowl 01-30-2006 10:43 PM

Thank you. Works like a charm now!

chairman miaow 01-31-2006 08:37 AM

Wicked ! Works beautifully now....

Superb hack

jmacieira 01-31-2006 06:11 PM

[NEW] Usergroup Permission Restriction

ChurchMedia 01-31-2006 09:03 PM

Works great now. Thanks!

mlrst 01-31-2006 10:27 PM

I installed everything correctly or so I think... however when I submit my thread, it just shows up as a link with the bbcode on each end. Almost as if absolutely nothing happens... looks like this.

[MEDIA]http://domain.com/dir/file.wmv[/MEDIA]

and that's it, now errors or warnings, just text.

Thanks in advance, I can't wait to get this working...

ChurchMedia 01-31-2006 10:29 PM

Check your usergroup permissions. The same thing happened to me. When I changed those it worked great.

Could you explain this a different way? I also applied the update today and now get the following. I then saw your suggestion and updated one usergroup, but that did not affect anything and I wasn't sure what you meant above.

What permissions would affect this? I posted as Admin if it helps... is there something added by the install that has to be included?

anyone solve this prob? it only happens to me in FF?
I find in FF that autostart=0 instead of autoplay=false is what works

any help is appreciated

mlrst 02-01-2006 12:55 AM

Ok I think I found the permission change, but now i get:

Error: Non supported media type.

I'm using IE and it's just a .wmv file... am I missing a player?

UPDATE: mp3's work...

michaelsilvia 02-01-2006 07:06 AM

I had the same problem viewing the video. You will have to set the user groups permission. After I changed the permissions it worked great! I have been wanting this for a long time!

This is by far one of the best hacks! Very simple and a great addition to any forum. Thanks for the great hack Crist!

Mike

This is totally confusing me. I mean it's probably a given that most of us are logging in under an admin account, so what does it mean?

chairman miaow 02-01-2006 02:49 PM

Log into your admin control panel

Click on "Usergroups"

Then "Usergroup Manager"

This will display the various user groups - click on each "edit usergroup" button (or click the "Go" button) , then scroll to the bottom - there should be a section titled "AnyMedia BBCode Permissions"

Set the control to yes or no , depending on which usergroups you want to use the BB Code.

Repeat for each usergroup that you want to be able to use this hack (I believe every usergroup is set to "No" by default)

Well, this is the problem then. I do not see anything remotely resembling "AnyMedia BBCode Permissions". I suppose I might need to uninstall and reinstall the hack again?

ChurchMedia 02-02-2006 02:34 AM

This is what my usergroup permissions screen looks like. At the very bottom. I did completetly re-hack when he changed it.

I'll refer to some docs and if it's really a problem,I'll fix it as soon.

UPDATE: mp3's work...

Whether the url (file) is end with ".wmv" ???
If not (such as "http://host/file?asfawgsavagasf"),
You must use a option to play it,
just like
[media=0,0,0,wmv]http://host/file?asfawgsavagasf[/media]

just upload the files again
and re-import the xml file.
then do change the usergroup permissions...

Crist 02-02-2006 11:01 AM

Ok I'm stupid and lazy. How do I install this.
I know there are some fancy install buttons here, but they only redirect me to the first post.

TIA

The button use to sign it as an installed hack for you,
but will never really install the hack for you.
You should download the hack to install by yourself,
it'll only take you a few minutes.

LB1UE 02-03-2006 05:34 PM

The problem is, I uploaded all the files, but I have no idea how to continue.

No idea, I don't even know how to install it

Getting the "Nonsupported Media Type" error when I use mpegs or wmv.

Have to use this tag: [MEDIA=0,0,0,wmv] to make it work.

Why won't the mpegs or wmv files work with just a simple [media] tag, as this was designed to do??

My MIME type for mpegs is: Content-type: video/mpeg
My MIME type for wmv is: Content-type: video/x-ms-wmv

Videos work fine with Links and Downloads Hack. Not sure why the windows media player is not automatically popping up with this one. Can we just use WMP for all video and audio files to keep this simple???

Thanks!
rich

EDIT: Upon playing with this, I've discovered that avi and wmv files work fine with the [media] tag.
mpeg, and mpg files, basically do nothing but show a blank "Any Media" box, with no player.
Hope this helps. Not sure what I've done wrong here.

mpegs is not a default supported extension.
You could use mpeg,
or u could edit the code to add this one.

we use QuickTime to play mpeg files by default.
If you want to use WMP for all videos (except for some certain types, such as rm and etc.), u could edit the code too.
