Marky 02-16-2006 07:57 AM

Sorry guys - just rechecked the code and I've missed out a massive proportion of it. Download the new zip file and upload the new 1.1 product. It should work now :)

finn snor 02-16-2006 09:03 AM

I downloaded your new version 1.1

Uninstalled old non working version 1.1

Installed new ver 1.1

Changed width to 200
Changed speed to 400
No difference
Same width
Same speed

Am i missing something ? do i need to do more than just installing the xml file ?

Are you sure you changed the download file yet ?

NICE! Just what I need to tell users that I'm itching to take down the board for an upgrade...

Thanks!

Hi Marky

I have just upgraded my IE Browser to 7.0.5299.0
and you hack does not bode to well my friend

I can see the first letter trying to show itself but its
as if the Marquee has been paused...

I have 2 other marquees similar to your and they both work ok!

Please see at www.bashys-place.com/forums (to bypass the intro lol)

Thanks in advance m8

Isn't I.E. still in dev? No reason why Marky should sweat any hack not working untill a full release of I.E.7..

bashy 02-24-2006 03:22 PM

Do you mind?

I was not demanding any thing, and i was asking Marky not yourself
Please can you refrain from replying for him...

If Marky does not think he can do anything for me then i am
sure he will let me know!!

Like RaceJunkie said, IE7 is in development - and I am currently using it, but I've found many bugs indeed. For example, when I visited your site, you get a square welcome box appear but only half of it appears. I'm sure Microsoft will fix these issues, but unfortunatly, because the coding of this modification has nothing to do with that issue, I can't fix it :( Sorry :(

bashy 02-24-2006 04:02 PM

lol....Yeah i just noticed that box...thought i'd take a look since you mentioned it
Looks they they have a way to go before it will be fully ready...

I thought it might have been something new in the coding for this version of IE
hence the reason of asking....

Thanks anyway me thinks i will stick with FF for now lol

TitanJeff 02-24-2006 04:24 PM

I just installed it and love it.

Three suggestions:

1. Could there be a way to alternate the messages which move across the page?

2. Is there any way to capture content such as sports scores and have it somehow scroll across?

3. And is there a way to not have a title and have the text scroll all the way to the far left of the bar?

shadowdancer36 02-24-2006 09:09 PM

I'm having a problem getting this to work within Vbportal. Does anyone have this hack working using it?

senkin 02-25-2006 04:22 AM

Great hack btw!! Thanks!!

Go into your menualert template -

AdminCP--> Styles & Templates--> Style Manager--> Find your Template--> Click <<>> and scroll down to menualert, choose Edit or double click.

Find:
Quote:

<td class="vbmenu_control" width="535" align="left">
Replace the number 535 to whatever number in width you would like it to be...
If you want your alert to be centered instead of aligned slightly to the left,

Find:
Quote:

<td class="vbmenu_control" width="535" align="left">
Replace with:
Quote:

<td class="vbmenu_control" width="535" align="center">
Be sure and set the width number to whatever width you desire...Hope this helps, be well -

btw Marky - Awesome! Very Professional looking. Thank you for sharing!

3.6 version coming soon!

lllll 09-05-2006 03:03 AM

I'm confused... i am new to this. I have imported the xml as a product... but i see nothing like the admin cp image that was posted anywhere in my admin cp. I added $menualert in the navbar template for one of my styles and it didn't seem to affect anything. What am I doing wrong. Also everyone that posts hacks leave sort of minimal directions on how to set them up is there like a tutorial for installing hacks/plugins/whatever else they are called that i am missing or am is it just sort of common knowledge... after installing one or two of em you get it.

Sorry i am not and idiot just need a little direction with this stuff :surprised:

Jamie1 09-10-2006 05:30 PM

Fantastic! :)

scottct1 10-12-2006 01:29 PM

Great looking forward to a 3.6 version! Hopefully it will let us add clickable links in it. That would make this RULE! :)

sduckie2k5 10-25-2006 08:42 AM

Great mod, thankyou. Sorry to be redundant but how do you get this to show up on the cmps page? Looks like that was already asked but I would like it to show there as well. Thankyou in advance! ~D

sduckie2k5 10-27-2006 07:44 PM

Anyone? Bueller?

bigmonay2k 10-30-2006 10:20 AM

yoyoyoyo 09-12-2007 01:04 PM
