Also, not be rude but I remember donating and helping with VB Garage which is now dead, why will this not happen with the new project? Same with Cinq, loved his articles and glossary but both are now dead and my members were left high and dry.

Say what you want about PP and VBa atleast the 2 products are still alive and being supported.

That may be true. I have over 7,500 pics in PP and have been using use all the PP products for a few years now. Never had a problem that was not solved in a reasonable time frame. I will continue to use and support their products.

I ran into the same issues as you with vBGarage and the articles add-on and I know the frustration that comes when the support dies. vBPicGallery has a lot of features that I needed and I am using it along with PP. It may or may not evolve into a full feature gallery, but Noppid is giving great support for it on his site and it is evolving.

vBPicGallery may not fit everyones needs but it could be an alternative for some who do not want to use PP or vBa

And even supported by you now, since you're a PhotoPost employee now.

Actually 'unpaid volunteer' is more appropriate.

You are correct, for those into a small scale, free alternative it may do just fine. I am in no way demeaning the product, my apologies if it looked that way.

As for the authors I do not support items that have been dumped and I stand by my comments there. A track record is important for authors, I donate to a lot of folks quite a bit but once they show themselves as unreliable I take that into future considerations.

With PP their support in the past was poor, MP was just overloaded until Chuck came along and I think it is improving dramatically. Now with KW and Zachariah it is going to get even better. I volunteered because if we want it to keep improving then some of us need to stop whining and do something about it. Brian's gallery was great because of the community effort and I can either cry about spilled milk or work.

I choose to work.

So now all your busting my chops when I post makes sense. You went to work long before being hired. Good luck with your new job.

As for your comment on a "very small scale", what did you base that on? Can we define small and big? I have some stats on vBPicGallery that may surprise you!

I find it very surprising you would make statements about my work when you don't use it. Or maybe you do and we have a conflict of interest here?

I know your boss is not looking for a pissing match with me, we are not competitors by any means and PP was not even on my radar till three days ago. You should talk to him before you drag his company into the mud representing them this way.

Pathetic, what happened to the garage noppid? I was using that.

I am busting your 'chops' because you are wrong, plain and simple. You are just trying to take advantage of the whole gallery situation when what, 6 months from now it will be a dead product aswell?

I dont have a boss, except the president actually, and I dont 'work' for anyone online. Being a volunteer moderator doesnt exactly qualify me for healthcare :)

You mean vBGarage 4.0.4 and 4.1.0 that are posted here and have not required any updates for months?

You mean vBGarage 4.0.4 and 4.1.0 where every problem that was encountered was fixed even if it was the installers fault and not the author of vBGarage's fault?

You mean vBGarage 4.0.4 and 4.1.0 that was free and still is and still is supported for free?

Oh yeah, that one!

I'm sorry you didn't like the idea it was unavailable for a while, but resourceful people and people that asked nicely always got a copy when I was asked.

Politeness goes a long way.

Keep talking, I enjoy it.

Are you actually saying if I tell the truth I could lose my job as a volunteer moderator?? Oh lord, my resume will never recover....

You are doing good. I appreciate your posting.

That is exactly what I referring to. As I said, smart and resourceful people were in touch with me all the time. Very few, if any, got turned away for new copies. Those that needed support, well, there were none! LOL vBGarage WORKED!

If you had it, you had no worries! If you didn't, like I said, most all that asked, got it.

Now, is there anything else you'd like to try and exagerate? I'm enjoying a preview of how an employee of PhotoPost acts since I never go there nor own the products you represent and support.

No actually I think referring to your previous works is really all I need to do. You have pretty much covered your ability to supprot your products and the community.

I am good :)

Thanks, yep, sales are good and my customers very happy. It's great!

vBPicGallery is the worst attempt at an alternative. All they did was take the old vbgarage and improve it a little bit further.

Its completely disorganized from every example I've seen. No categories, just clutter.

I'm not a fan of photopost either, but I'll give them a try, if I don't like them, I'll try to buy them out and replace their staff, just some little po dunk company anyhow.

If you do and I remain as a highly paid volunteer moderator, can I have healthcare? :) :)

Well thanks for the review, How many times have you used it?

Let's see for organized, each member gets a gallery hall. I guess the category would be members pictures. Then each member gets a number of galleriers in that hall each with a preset number of pictures they can post. These numbers are controlable in the usergroup settings.

Then each member gets to create a gallery for any given subject they want and title it as such as well as write a full description using the vBulletin editor. This is great for creating unique content, something many galleries don't offer!

That seems to be a decent personal gallery add on to me. But what do i know?

Let's see there is a list of galleries that can be sorted by creation date, last activity date and member name, ascending and decending. Rev 8 of vBPicGallery will include listing by username. There will be a letter index, a to z, similar to my amazon bookstore products letter index.

It's a nice add on picture gallery for any vBulletin forum.

And another thread that is turning into a flaming contest.
