? ?Outside variables? are removed from the hack as it is confusing for novice users and redundant for expert users. Someone who needs to pass outside variables to the webtemplate can use PHPINCLUDE field of webtemplate to clean and process variables in the vbulletin way. Eg.

$vbulletin->input->clean_array_gpc('r', array(
'my_variable_1' => TYPE_STR,
'my_variable_2' => TYPE_INT,
));

Yes. I've done the biggest chunk of work in WebTemplates and need to wait for 3.5 version.

It will be an extension, no?

Also, the part about external variables is one I'll have to relearn. Our current price guide is all about external variables. I hope that the include will be per-page and not global as in vBulletin?

This may be a dumb question but what exactly is webtemplates? :)

Yes it will be perpage as it was before. All you need to do is to add the snippet I quoted above to your phpinclude field of your webtemplate. I believe using

$_GET[variablename]
$_POST[variablename]

for your outside variables should also work.

It is Content Management System for vbulletin. You can find its link in my profile.

I upgraded to 3.5 just after reading you were workin on this.

I can't wait. :banana: :banana: :banana:

I'd be glad if some experienced users install the hack and give me some feedback about the new version. If you are interested, please provide me with your email address and I'll be sending you the hack in a few days. Just one kindly request : Please do not ask, if you are not going to install it or send me feedback. ^^

Obviously you need to have a 3.5.x board (real board or a test board) to test the 3.5.x version. :)

Thanks!

Ps. New version coded as a plugging with phrase support (for user interfaces) and can be installed/uninstalled to your board very easily without modifying any vbulletin .PHP files.

Logician,
Current results for Beta Test on VB 3.5.1 upgraded board.

1-Installed fine
2-Uninstalled fine
3-Export and Import of old 3.0.x webtemplates worked very well
4-Editing interface in ACP working well

I have only noticed one problem so far. When you edit a webtemplate and save the changes, you get the following error message:
Quote:

Warning: strtotime() [function.strtotime]: Called with an empty time parameter. in /admincp/wt_wt.php on line 396

Warning: strtotime() [function.strtotime]: Called with an empty time parameter. in /admincp/wt_wt.php on line 397
The changes still take effect despite the above error message.

Logician,
I received your email. The new wt_wt.php file fixed the above error I reported. Everything seems to be working correctly now.

Project Update:

I've finished coding the hack, tested it on my own, prepared the help documents etc. so it is ready for the release. ATM. I'm just testing it in different boards to make it bug free in all enviroments. I've sent the hack to people who requested it and waiting for feedback from them (some already returned to me). I also need to write hack thread info, FAQ etc. so I believe I'll release it officially in 10-15 days.

If you are in hurry and want to have it now, PM your email address to me and I'll send you the hack together with the instructions.

Logician,
All updates have been applied and everything seems to be working correctly. I have not seen any new errors.

What is the status now? I can't wait to try this out. Many thanks in advance!
