My 100,000+ forum members did. Once we installed drupal and they started using the fckeditor they all started complaining about the vb editor. They lovel fck's ability to upload images and place them anywhere they want in the text.

Let's face it - it's a Web2.0 world and vb's wysiwyg is Web1.0

To the novice user vb's interface is acceptable, but to anyone in tune with what's happening on the web they want more features for content publishing.

Don't get me wrong, I love VB but the wysiwyg doesn't compare with fckeditor...

I think you may be missing something fairly big, the vBulletin WYSIWYG editor is designed to handle bbcodes and display posts properly. The fckeditor is designed to render html in real time. These are two totally differnt goals. vBulletins wisyig was never designed nor implimnted to take in raw html and output it into the editor.

fck editor is a html wisywig
vBulletin's is a bbcode wisywig.

They were designed with totally different ideas in mind.

zachary - tanks for the clarification and I do understand the difference. It's a rapidly changing world and vb could kick royal butt if they added a true html wysiwyg edit... you already support the rendering of html by allowing people to post html in posts, why not offer this too?

Zachery 07-25-2006 08:36 PM

I did see your original post, :p

I think you really need to ask the developers this, all I know is that the vBulletin wisywig was originally designed to do bbcode not so much raw html.
