Also seems that the information in ythe "Templates" and "Replacments" must be stored other places?

Maybe I am confusing th style file from a "Style" file (or set of files) that I would get as a "skin" for Vb??

I will look through the mods more, but I am not getting much from them, as they mostly dealing with the internals of these files, and not the 'macro' level where I still seem to have a lack of understanding.

Thanks again, but if you know of a particular thread or decent set of search terms to use top find one, it would be very helpfull.

Right now I am feeling real dumb!

Style files are the whole package, except for the images (.gif's). They need to be uploaded via ftp to the forum directory somewhere (or whereever the image path is set to).

Templates and replacements are part of the style file, but they are inserted to the database when you install a style. The style file is only for backing up purposes. The style lives in the database, not the .style file.

Thanks.

I also found out that the downloaded version of the vB manual is missing the pages on STYLES!!.
No wonder I felt like I did not know something that should have been obvious!

Your explaination and those pages have me about 90% sure I understand it at the top level.

Thanks again.
