Sorry to bust into your thread here, but would it be a pain in the *** to make something that would hyperlink everytime that a Members Name shows up in a post. (haha, that probably the first time you've seen the word hyperlink in a while!) It would link to the members profile of course.

It would work similar to bbcode, but the only problem I could see is that if it's dynamic it would add a big load to the server to query each word to see if it was a member. (especialy on LARGE boards)

Maybe it could be done as a static thing, a modification to the "convert urls to linked urls" part of posting... So it would make add the link only once, when a post was created and then it would be saved as bbcode in the post. Thus eliminating the need for dynamic linking. Of course you would have to add a maintnance function to covert old posts so the bbcode was added into the post.

Queries? I used HTML, adding a link does not create queries. Code in phpinclude and file hacking create queries. Adding a HTML code link doesn't affect your server.

And it's just the name in the author column, nothing more. (Like vBT)

Making hyperlinks automatically generate based on the template output would be extremely cool but I'd have no idea how you could do it. The only way I can think of is fetching the entire user table, but that would be extremely intensive when scanning the page for every single username.

Yeah, I don't think thats template material for now. :-/
