photopost wins hands down - vbagallery looks way to basic for my liking.

T3MEDIA 03-20-2005 12:22 PM

I will tell you the truth and not be all pansy about it.
Photopost is the best but the attitude of the people that run that place is horrable. You get this I am so smart attude from them. You can tell from the way they act they are some sloppy guy with thick glasses and pot belly somewere working on a fithy desk. So get it ONLY if you want 0 support. If you need support your under control of thier mood swings.

vbagallery is actually pritty good. No where near the amount of control PhotoPost has however. No where near.

The others are no good. Straight up. And seamless intergration is hard.

So there you have it. Good luck

I have had good luck with support from photopost so far.

I will strongly recommend vba Gallery. I have been using nearly 2 months and every problem I faced has been solved within 1-2 hour. Their price is far cheaper then Photopost.

I'm considering vBA Gallery or Photopost, too. I think I'll end up going with vBA Gallery for all the reasons listed here but one more: Photopost is still running 3.0.3 and I am fully updated. I want support from a company that is current with vBulletin upgrades.

I strongly beg to differ, considering I use both products ( in fact, have used all the products together with vbulletin integration for the choices in the poll ).

How can I possibly respond without sounding like a bully? You couldn't be further from the truth, but I'll let it slide....

PhotoPost was the first photo gallery to integrate with vBulletin (and many other forums) and continues to raise the bar for features and integration. We've been selling PhotoPost for more than three years, have a paid support staff and continue to release new updates in a timely manner. Virtually every new feature you find being placed in most gallery products these days can be traced back to PhotoPost as the innovator; vBGallery is no exception.

My advice would be, do you homework and make an educated decision based on your requirements and expectations.

Ive used both Photopost and vBaGallery and I think it has all the same advantages, and the integration was much better and cleaner IMHO.

People have given there educated opinons and there opinions all match, customer service is horrible, people there are stuck up, Brian and the VBA staff have won the hearts of customers everywhere, and all you emails you send to people that convert from Photopost to VBAgallery show just how low the service is.

If you go back and re-read the thread you'll see that not everyone shares that opinion. It's easy to bash a product that has been around a long time and has thousands of customers - some of it may be deserved, much of it isn't. We work hard to make all our customers happy, even the most difficult ones. While it was easier when we were starting out with only a couple hundred, we've worked hard to expand our support along with our growth.

I could post dozens of testimonials showing you the exact opposite of what some might say; but I don't think anyone here is served by any further mud slinging.

I just purchased a photopost license. Complete and seamless integration with vb. It uses vb's template and css too and it can run on a separate database or server, a must if your site is growing like mine.

The guys over at photopost just needs to be a bit more professional, especially when answering their phone and just more patient on dummies or non-coders like me.

I can't comment on vbagallery because I never even knew it existed until I came across this thread. LOL vbagallery.com is owned by 1 & 1 internet. And I always thought there were only 4images, coppermine, and photopost for VB and I have used all 3, btw.
