Yep, looks like it is missing. Your host should upgrade PHP anyways - 4.3.4 is pretty outdated and has known security holes.

as you see the gd section which i posted as the rest weren't needed features jpg support.

So what should I tell my hosting company to upgrade?

I just called them and ripped someone a new Ahole and told them to get their act together and to upgrade their php. They said they will get right on it.

What new technology? GIF Write support was in GD before but was removed because of the patent and added back last year.
