nope, mine is the old style settings for 3.1.1
was i supposed to do something other than running the upgrade script and clicking those three options in there?

noppid 01-24-2005 03:26 AM

That should have done the job.

Upload the install_vbgarage.php to your admincp folder and run part two only, "update after vBulletin upgrades".

You can also rerun any step of the upgrade.

Let me know how many updates it says it performed.

What you are describing is as if part one of the upgrade was not or did not run or execute correctly. I'll look into it.

Thanks.

EDIT:

At the end of upgrade part one you will see this...

Quote:

Pharse and settings upgrade Finished!

3 Updates performed.
Table setting->varname=vbgpopups updated.
Table phrase->varname=setting_vbgpopups_title updated.
Table phrase->varname=setting_vbgpopups_desc updated.

Now you may need to go to
Admin Control Panel->vBulletin Options->vBGarage Options
Update the options and click "SAVE".

You may want to check each groups permissions as well.

PLEASE DELETE THIS FILE!
Well don't delete the file. Rerun it and do option 2 and 3. oops

I also deleted my two new phrases and one new setting and reran the upgrader step one and it upgraded as expected.

ok its working now

ok i was confused because the upgrade instructions didnt ask to use the install script

[ INSTALL UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPGRADING AN EXISTING vBGarage INSTALLAION DB MODE] (Leave images in database)
(Backup your database and close your forums!)

1. UPLOAD the provided vbgconfig.php file to your forums ROOT folder
Set $vbg_use_fs = 0; to use the script in database mode
This is the default so there's nothing to do. :)

2. UPLOAD "upgrade_vbgarage.php" to your forums/admincp folder.

3. Execute (ex. http://www.yourforums.com/forums/adm...e_vbgarage.php)

4. Run the first option "vBGarage Upgrade - New Settings and Phrases"

5. Run the second option "vBGarage Utilities - Prepare DB for Thumbnails".

6. Run the third option "vBGarage Utilities - Create Thumbnails for DB".
(If you have alot of images in the DB this may be pretty intense on the server.)

6. Delete "upgrade_vbgarage.php".

7. UPLOAD "vbgarage.php" to your forum ROOT directory
and i didnt know if running that would mess up my pre-existing installation
in there it should mention uploading the installer file and running the second option.

unless i was just stupid in all that :D

Well I'm glad it worked out.

I'll double check my end and keep an eye out for if anyone else experiences this.

Thanks

I tried moving my images from the db to the fs and it seems that only about half of the images show up. It did create all the images in a folder, but in the garage there are just a ton of them that are just a red X. I tried running things over and over again to see if it would create more thumbnails or fix the problem but no luck.

This is a test forum only, running vb 3.0.7
http://www.hondacruisers.com/forums/...ge.php?do=list

Any ideas?

Thanks

If some but not all made it, it may be an issue on the server. I'm not sure to be honest. Sorting out such a problem is difficult from the outside.
