I haven't looked at the search code in 3.7, but I remember looking at 3.5 and finding that the code was almost there, it was just an input filter keeping it from happening. Unfortunately since 3.5, you can't subscribe to catagories, which made this less useful and probably why I abandoned it.

Edit: looks like it was already that close in 3.0.

Can you make a mod where you can search for only new threads in *forums* you've subscribed to?? I'm on 3.7.4 and it does let you subscribe to forums.

Subscribed forums search can be created, I've seen it set-up in one major webmaster forum, DigitalPoint.
