One other thing about iespell is that it only works with Internet Explorer that I am aware of. It seems that more and more of my visitors are coming with Firefox and other Mozilla varients. I can't blame them either with all the issues with IE and Active X and such. Even with iespell, they are without a spell checker option.

I agree! Especially when you consider how much vB costs it should have basic features like a spellchecker included...

A spell checker for what language?

vBulletin is used in many different languages. Jelsoft should include spelling checkers for all those?

Well English would be a nice place to start...

i dont have a use for a spell checker. there are words that would be flagged by it that may not be misspelled eg. center/centre both spellings are english. there are also other words that would be flagged because a spell checker cant check for transliteration. yes a spell checker would be nice but i wouldnt include it in the core package.

As an option you would be able to turn it on/off via the ACP just like any other 'feature'.

do you realize the size of dictionary files? what would be needed for a spellchecker? i've seen some 100-300megs in size just for english
