Can someone clear up how you become advanced or master? I've just noticed John that created VB Arcade has 944 installs and is still only a coder

Sorry we decided not to tell the exact values, to prevent someone trying to just get the title

all i can say is that's an AND condition, so if you have 10000000 installs and just one hack, you will never get the advanced ;)

Because releasing many hacks that gets installed by many people (IE many good hacks that he might not have released) would be bad indeed... [/sarcasm]
Seriously now, would it be so bad to see people releasing many multiple-install hacks just to get the titles? :ermm:

Why should people release a good hack just to get another title, but don't release it if they don't know the exact values???

Im not blagging to know the numbers, just so thats clear first :p

What I meant was: Title might inspire people to release good hacks that they otherwise would have as exclusive for their forums.
Knowing the values makes it easier to see how far they got left before they get a new title.
...or something like that.

i believe values should be kept secret because that is what i would do since it only creates spam etc....

If there were another value such as integrity of the hack, where users would rate overall value of the hack (functionality, code etc wise) and if that is also included in the formula that would give more credibility to the advanced coder title.

If members are releasing hacks to get text under their username, then that would be the wrong reason to do it, wouldn't you say? :) Release hacks because you want to contribute to the community. Who cares about titles (or post counts etc.)? It's the quality, not the quantity. For example, John's Arcade hack is fanatastic - nobody should care if he's called "Coder" or "Master Coder" or "Yoda" - makes no difference at all in this world or the next. :)
