I totally agree with your comment! I cannot believe how many sites currently do this.

When I go to a site I am interested in what they have to offer (their content) ... statistics are the last thing on my mind especially if I am new to the site and new to vBulletin.

All of this "stuff" should be available to members only; only if they wish to view it should it be available. Add a new profile field and give the option to your members: give them some control:

FOR EXAMPLE:
By default statistics are not shown ... would you like to view statisitics on the main page? NOTE: Statistics shown can degrade speed of main page.

YES (checkbox - the only option needed)

If Statistics are ENABLED where would you like it displayed?
Top of Page (radio button)
Bottom of Page

Create a conditional statement based on the above ....

I don't use the forum stats on forumhome. I keep them on the portal. At the top, is who's online, upcoming events, member of the day, and thread of the day.

But you're right, non-members don't care about that stuff; so I threw in a conditional and turned them off for guests. Thanks for the advice :)
