Floris, please...
Things were already explained here:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79809

We have a list of people who said yes, and people who said no. So we never ask again to people that are already on our lists. And when there is a mistake, just tell me, or Sophocle, or Albibak, or whoever is an administrator, and the correction will be made right away just like it was done for KuraFire:
http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showp...4&postcount=30

So people who keep asking cannot be us.

Thank you Floris

Gary W ?
Didn't you release hacks on vborg that aren't written by you? Yeah I think so, pm.zip was released by you earlier today, stefan removed it i think.

I'm okay with that, I gave credit to the original hack author and I just found out your hack was released before mine.

Anyways, I started off on a light note, so there is no need to bring it down :) (Probably because you think I'm supporting vbulletin-fr.com?)

So Floris, when somebody asks you for permission and tells he's from vbulletin-fr let us know (Sophocle or me) by pm. We will do the necessary.

Floris 01-04-2004 07:18 PM

So you release hacks by others and just credit the author and then its ok? :) Can I do that with the source code of vbulletin ?

Good point, but also different as well. I don't want to start a whole discussion here, but hey, if any of my hacks should be removed, then so be it :)

Hello <username>, My Name Is Socrate.
I?m a member of vBulletin-Fr.com team.
http://forum.vbulletin-fr.com
It?s the unofficial French support website.
We are working hard to translate all language and style sets and we try to translate the most useful hacks. We also develop hacks we share on vbulletin.org.
I?ve noticed you?ve made excellent hacks, especially Y one.
In accordance with the vbulletin's licence and with your copyright, I ask you to allow us to translate your hacks (past and future) and to post them on our French forum.
Of course, we?ll respect your copyright and we?ll remind users of:
- Author?s name
- Translator?s name
- Link to the original Hack at vbulletin.org
- "This release is done with prior consent of the hack author"
- "Hack code is for your visitors usage only, can not be re-released, distributed, published without consent of the hack author."
- "Support of this hack is only available at vbulletintemplates.com"
All those elements will be available in the downloading post and in the install file of your translated hack.
You can see an example a translated hack on our board:
http://forum.vbulletin-fr.com/showthread.php?t=4051
We?ll never re-release your hacks and will just distribute and publish them on our board.
At this time, we have collected 89 authorizations. I would appreciate a positive answer.
Many thanks.

That thread's closed now, so I'll thank you for the correction in here. :)

We should look into a steady solution for this problem. I've already got some good ideas which I'll be working out, but they're in early stages so far...
