I dont understand what you are trying to say?

Andrew111888 07-31-2003 01:26 AM

Ban the IP 212.202 for a few weeks until they bug off.

MaDCaT75 07-31-2003 01:44 AM

I'm afraid that wont work I just saw him registering again with 210.34.45.199 ugh I give up

Did you email ban him? Start deleting his accounts as soon as they are made. Make it harder for him.

Ban all free email addresses for the moment, and he should run out of email addresses.

Bottom line: No matter what you do you can never truly ban a person. They can use proxies, spoof IPs, and do all sorts of things to reregister.

I think when the miserable user hack comes out for vB3 it will solve my problem.

I e-mail banned him and I put in the e-mail ban list the free e-mails list (the huge one). I also am going to moderate incoming users because I know this guy has friends that will try to jerk around on my forum.

Unfortunately, due to the existence of proxy servers far and wide accross the planet, the only possible way of an IP Ban is banning every proxy server in existence and every IP of the user...

And to ban every proxy isn't good, as lots of people use them for reasons other than spoofing their IP :rambo:

Guess I'll just wait for the miserable user hack to come out for vB3 then :D

Alternatively, you could experiment with it yourself;):)
