Also, you can create a new hack for vB3, which has the same general idea as a hack that was created for vB2. Of course you don't port the hack over, i.e. using the code and format, but it can always be re-created.

Actually, since the code is different, as are the functions and variables, any port will have different code anyway. So there is a fine line between creating a new hack that is the same as a hack in vB2, and porting a hack from vB2. :)

But...you could create a hack that is extremely similar to a hack for vB2, but change its looks, name, layout, and maybe add one or two features. That way is fine isn't it?

I wanted to keep the country hack v2 on my forums updated to vb3 beta 5.... thought it would be easier than it looks like it might be. Given up in the mean time, I never realised how heavily hacked my forums were until now!

You can do the country hack using conditional templates without hacking. Someone released it at vbulletintemplates.com if you need help with it.
