RC = Release Candidate

so it means the version can be released normally and will get gold if they don't find any bugs during a certain time period

You could wait for others to run future RC's and see how stable they are before you do, avoiding any known bugs if they are found out. :)

Likewise, but I'm not going to upgrade until at least 3.0.2 for security reasons, too. Initial releases have all the big bugs, let others suffer ;)

Feh... my live forums are already upgraded and I'm planning on running a vB3 test board on my localhost on a un-net connected pc :)

Testboards rock for working on styles with no one around to mess you up :)
