You got lucky. After I ran this, I upgraded mysql and php. So, I have another run of it:

Maybe I should be using mysql_get_server_info() instead of mysql_get_client_info()...

Doh. I forgot about that problem. PhpInfo is reporting the wrong version of mysql as well. It has to do with how I had to upgrade things on ensim. But, mysql 4 is really being used and it really does make a difference in performance :)
