Erwin, here is the buffoon that triggered this post. Would one of you level-headed moderators go do whatever it is you do to such clowns before I reach through my montitor and choke him?
Now you see, naturally (no offense of course) I'd be mad when I read your post. However, you're female. This distorts all of spacetime, reality, and the laws of physics because (1) it's impossible to argue with a girl, and (2) you never win.

A conundrum it is!

/me hangs head meekly

I sigh and answer the poor sap most of the time, unless it's a member who's known for annoyance. I should put my foot down more often, really. But people tend to come to me on *board in reference* for help anyway because I do tend to be one of the nicer ones. Talk about a catch 22.

Filbert, I am really not this crabby usually. I promise. About 43% of the time, I just do the damn search myself and give them the link. 55% of the time, I sit on my hands and ignore the lazy bums. But, that other 2% of the time, I spit a few tacks and snarl a bit. (The first one of you who makes a crack about times of the month will get a dreadfully wrong answer to your next support question :D)

I can handle when they don't search. Usually. I can even tolerate a pathetic bump without telling them to go buy a PHP book and start reading. Usually. Cross posting annoys the hell out of me, and I can rarely refrain from giving them a link to their own post  But this guy did all 3 and I actually believed I showed some restraint because I didn't ask him if he has his mommy do his homework for him too. :D

Amy, that user was out of line. First of all, his question was answered. Secondly, he cross-posted. Thirdly, he started swearing (albeit with ++++ signs to self-censor his own obscenities). On my site, he would be banned. Here... well, we make concessions for certain members. However, if he does that again, let me know. We do not tolerate rude, unappreciative members.

The idiot cussing usually makes them a model member afterwards. ;)

Whenever someone asks a frequently asked question i always help but remind them to use the search feature next time. Only had one person be arrogant about it so far here ;)

Well, refering to the first post.

if it's an arrogant order give me that, all i do is "search" and close the thread, but if it's a friendly request, i post like:
"Such a thing has been asked very often, use the search engine :)"
