I still don't see what this hack does :(?

It looks as though it's for the forumdisplay instead of the homepage.
I'm not sure though.

La differenza di questa modifica ai Templates è che questa funziona le altre no, nel senso che quando clicchi sul menu anche se non ci sono moderatori andavi in una pagina inesistente, questa versione non fa gli scherzi delle altre versioni, inoltre sui forumsdisplay il tasto "go" va quando serve come per la versione che c'è in forumshome.

The difference of this modification to the Templates is that this
works the others not, in the sense that when clik on the menu even
if not there are moderators you went in a nonexistent page, this
version does not make the jokes of the other versions, moreover on
forumsdisplay the key "go" goes when it serves like for the version
that is in forumshome.

I think i just about understand this now. It makes it so that if there are no mods and you select the option from the dropdown it won't take you to nowhere..
