I hate Linux too, especially because I'm reminded of 12-year-olds sitting at their lunch table talking about Quake and compiling their kernels, whereas I'm many tables away talking about chicks, driving, and the like. Something a certain new driver here should be able to relate to :D

You mean me?

Like I said - alot of the programs I have seen don't want to work on a Mac...

The absolute only thing I can think of that a Mac can't do (and only for the moment) is have Lesane's username Glow in his Store hack work in the latest OSX browsers.
Graphics in games/all adobe software/dvds etc. are all incredible on a Mac!
What are you doing comparing a 2000 windows machine to a mac from the 80's? ;)

Littlebit 10-25-2002 05:20 PM

incidently I can run soft pc on my Mac and use any windows software I want...but why would I want to do that?! Except maybe to run windows buggy IE to see my username glow ;)

Virtual PC is okay...

BTW, playing Quake 3 today as I said...I started out at 5 hrs remaining on battery life. When I stopped 40 minutes later, I was down to half an hour left on the battery. :D

Chris M 10-25-2002 05:57 PM

Hehe...

I started on 100% battery...

After 1 hour of playing about with PHP on my computer, i had 17% left lol...

Its supposed to last for about 4 hours!

NTLDR is right, it is about preference, I got a Powermac G4 with OS X, and its pretty nice, but I can't seem to get away from windows. DOn't get it wrong, I grw up on mac, then moved to windows at a young age :)

At least IE will display pages properly, I've never seen a site look as good in Netscape, Mozilla, or any other browser. Face it, IE is the best. Shame there will be no IE7 :(

Littlebit 10-25-2002 07:36 PM

IE for OSX is quick and smooth...and I definitely have had performance problems with Mozilla browsers. I was referring more to the security related bugs.
I also agree with you that it is completely a preference. :)

DrkFusion 10-25-2002 07:55 PM

Why won't there be ie7?
