It seems perfectly logical that it would be possible to make a hack for this. I would love to know how to track a specific forum and show new threads that are posted, refreshing ofcourse.

]yup... that man from the link I gave found out how... I wish he could release his work... :(

This app is so schweet! I've seen that NeoWin has created RDF backeend files for their Klips. I'd like to add this to my forums as well.
What hack do I need to create the RDF or XML files? |
I'm experimenting with klip at the moment,i've worked how to edit the food source file to include new threads, but my question is what do i need to do to make the klip auto update itself everytime a new thread is posted. At the moment i have to add the thread links manually by editing the file, which is too time consuming.
Also what file type would you recommend i use. .RSS or .FOOD. and what is a backend feed?? Sorry to ask so many questions.Any help is appreciated. Thanks |
i made it. it will be part of the retail version of vbHome (lite) (actually it will be named ActiveNews)

I now have a backend xml feed in place using the backend.php attached in this thread. Here

mines is totally different.. it uses several functions it has defined permissions based on child-parent forums and it selects various areas... news, threads, etc.
