We will be using the SiteMod CMS, developed by ZaireWeb. The script itself, is not yet public as it is still in the development stage. I have known the developer for a while, which allowed me to get a pre-release copy to test out and use for my website(s). The script will cost, although a confirmation on the license cost is not yet availible.
So far, it is a really nice script, it makes things so much easier than others I have used/tested in the past. - SaintDog |
Excellent idea! One of the first things I did with vBulletin was to mess around with the templates. If things went wrong I could always revert back to the original (such a great feature).

Ok, since I have been getting non-stop IM's from people regarding the opening of vBulletinGraphics.com, I am going to update everyone on its progress here (so here goes):
--------- vBulletinGraphics is being ran by a CMS (content management system). The purpose of this is to make adding, editing, and removing articles easier and more convienent (it also saves time between adding articles). The initial release of the website depends on the amount of time it takes to complete the CMS's programming (it is not being done by myself, we are simply beta testing it and trying to perfect it) as well as the time it takes to complete the design for the website. It is very time consuming to have to report all the errors and make the CMS as perfect as can be (so you all can view the site without any of these errors), so any help would be appreciated. If there are any graphics designers out there (I am sure there are a few) who would like to help in designing a layout for vBulletinGraphics.com, I would be very greatful for the help. I will try to keep everyone updates via this thread but, should you have any questions, please feel free to send them to webmaster@vbulletintemplates.com - you can also sign up for the mailing list by sending an e-mail to this address (just state in the e-mail that you would like to be added to the mailing list as well as you e-mail address you would like to have added). Thanks to those that have already signed up and I hope every continues to look forward to the opening ;). - SaintDog |
Why are you opening seperate sites for each thing? WHy not just make 1 site with all of the above?
|
im not the biggest fan of spliting the sites, one thing i always loved about ubb (waits for flames) is that for the most part, templates, gfx, code hacks, and all that good stuff is in one place, i dont wanna see soemthing like iB is doing happen to vB, i think if vB.org went into more detail with templates and all that other good stuff it would go off much better, im already reg'ed at two forums (.com and here) y make it 3,4, or 5? :), just my .2 cents, but whatever floats your boat.

@c-prompt
While it would make some sense to bring together all of the websites, I prefer to seperate them as I do not like to over-crowd the websites. Both vBGFX and vBT offer 2 seperate things, one is solely for graphics while the other is solely for template editing & editing tutorials. @anime-loo Neither of my websites, vBGFX or vBT have a forum in which to sign up in or for. As of right now, I really do not plan on adding a forum to each (there has already been a discussion of the problems there would be if one was brought to vBGFX within this thread). So all in all, you will not have to sign up for anything (forum-wise) on either of my websites. - SaintDog |
as long as its a site not ran by vB (just to split us up a bit more ;) ) i dont have a beef with it, i thought jelsoft would be backing it like they do org, my misteak, look forward to it

Nope, I own both vBulletinGraphics & vBulletinTemplates and started them because I wanted to (although I don't personally have a problem with JS).

You think people are going to stop using the two official vBulletin websites? Whether you open 2, 3, 4, or however many you want to open new vBulletin sites, vB.com and vB.org are still going to be used, and will probably be used more than the site dedicated to templates or graphics or whatever, simply because vB.com/.org are official support groups.
And I don't understand the point in opening 3 different websites, you're trying to organize things right? Sounds to me like you're just making a vBulletin aftermarket support network. You initially made BBA for all bulletin board graphics and templates and hacks, which was a great idea, then you narrowed it down to just graphics and templates, and last time I checked it was just for vB (I have no idea where your at now, you changed it way too much IMO). Now your making another site just for vB graphics and another one just for vB templates...I don't get it. You're going to keep making new vB-based sites until you get one that's successful? I don't think you're making things easier by making a whole new site for every aspect of vBulletin customization, it'd be most efficient and organized to keep it in one location, and in the official support forums. But if you must open a new vB site, keep everything on one place, like the old BBA did. |
