i always save the .psd files to prove i'm the owner of the file. usually a little logo that i make can contain up 50layers. that's the trick to easy corect everything in photoshop. more layers, better-faster file. at least that is what i think. let me know your oppinion. regards, nakkid. |
So what you are basically saying is that if I make an image in MS Paint, or something similar, and someone else makes the exact same image using Photoshop and a bunch of layers, not only would they not be ripping me, but I would infact be ripping them since I do not have the PSD file to 'prove' that I made the original?

anyway, the idea i try to pull out is this: as long as you have a proof that you made that graph file, not copy-paste it, nobody can do something to you legally. let me know what do you think and please correct me if i'm wrong. |
lol
very valid point HM |
LMAO. Check this message from his board:

Just to clarify, you have to alter an image 80% to make it original. So if took one of cprompts buttons, I would have to make a significant amt of changes to it (80%) to then call it my own. So if he has three blue lines in his button, i would have to change the color, add more lines, shorten one, twirl the next, add a gradient, maybe a bevel and change its shape, and it wont be considered a rip. |
As far as I remember, you cannot do anything from a legal standpoint unless you have an actual copyright. I sincerely doubt that anybody here wouls copyright an image, or even a whole vB style. The person might lose credibility, but you cannot sue them.
And as for MSPaint, the best example I can give is this. Most of the layout there was made in MSPaint (I assume the banner wasn't), and the previous versions of the layout were too. |
hehe this site is by far a rip :) http://stock.xxtax.gov.cn/bbs/index.php
Anyway, getting back to copyrighted images and that say you were to create a table heading image similar to C-promts, maybe different colours, similar shape, would that still be classed as a rip? as i have seen before someone complain of someone using gray buttons and calling them a rip. I am very interested in this a i am learning photoshop and i often take other peoples designs and see if i can create them with my skills. I don't then publish them but i like to see what i can do. Most of the time i don't come no where near close to them. and i agree i think most people do you photoshop now adays because of the way you can get graphics looking |
