4.2.4 has been fine for a long time (its the vB4 equivilent of 3.8.10, which we have been running here since the summer).

4.2.5 is Beta now, so aside from occasional minor hiccups, it should run fine (the vB3 equivilent is 3.8.11, whch is running on the forumrunner site).

Thanks, working well. I would have tried 4.2.4 but I do not feel like updating mysql again. I am one step behind the required version.

You're still running MySQL 4 ?

Why ?

I have 4.5.5 and I believe the beta required 4.5.6.. On mobile and do not have the info in front of me though so I could be off right now.

I have not updated MySQL yet to the latest version because I host a bunch of sites and not all of them are mine and i try to avoid restarting MySQL unless i absolutely have too.

With that being said I will probably be updating this upcoming week.:)

##Edit - My Version is 5.5.5, not 4.5.5

Paul M 12-11-2016 01:01 PM

The minimum MySQL for 4.2.4 is 5.0.0 (for 4.2.5, its 5.5.8).

No one should still be running MySQL 4 these days, its about as old as PHP 4.

Yeah Paul, that was a typo on my part. I meant my version is 5.5.50 currently..

4.2.4 only requires 5.0.0, which you meet quite easily with 5.5.50 (in fact, 4.2.5 only requires 5.5.8, so you even meet that as well).

I did update to 4.2.4 but 4.2.5 requires 5.5.8 which is a little higher than 5.5.5. I'm not sure what the difference is though.

Well there is a difference between 5.5.5 & 5.5.50, which is what you stated before.

5.5.8 was the first stable 5.5.x release, prior to that they were RC releases, or Dev releases (5.5.5 was a Dev release).

Thanks so much Paul. I do have 5.5.50 so I'm good! I appreciate the info!
