I went ahead and upgraded to version 5.1.5 and I am going to use it on a new site with a fresh new install.

I got the branding free, got the installation by them (still waiting for), and one month of support, but I did NOT get the mobile suite.

I may get a theme soon, and looking forward to plugins when they are available. Maybe vBSocial, at least, David, the guy who runs it, says he is working on his stuff to work with, and be available for, vB 5 Connect.

Not exactly true, I have a couple more mods I could make but chose to hold off while the software stabilizes and the user base grows. It's not impossible to mod for without hooks, just more limited.

You can have basic mods, but there will never be any decent (more advanced) mods made/converted without the hooks, unless you start editing core files.

Plus - not that it matters much to people anymore seemingly - v5 is just slow. Out of the box, slow.

Additionally I cannot imagine ever buying it without the mobile suite. Embrace mobile or die.

I don't like to use the latest script because it must contain many unknown bugs.
I prefer to use older script so that I save time on dealing with the bugs.
After all, what bring people to a forum is not the latest version or the latest functions.

I am considering to make use of one of my two very old (and not used) vB licenses and want to upgrade to v 5.1.5, (for a fresh install on a new (as far as vB install) and different domain) but I am not so sure how much sense it makes, plus, many of my members will be using mobile devices, and I have even more doubt concerning the mobile package, as well.

Hi ClubPro,

I do not think it's appropriate for this article

:erm:

I do not think you are up to the challenge of open and honest and free discussion.

And I do not think that is appropriate for this forum.

Is there ANY type of feedback module for VB5 (iTrader) etc. If not I will have to go with 4. Thanks

Using vB 4xx and feeling great with it, the same vb5 and made responsive design and addons.
Just suggest you go with vb4.
