What are we looking for to see whether our current forum software can be imported into the vB4 as you say?

Search of ImpEx doesn't get that info that I can find.

I am helping with a Vanilla Forum install now and they may agree to port to vBulletin which I have used -- several years ago.

Anyone have any success - if no, then they won't pay the $250 I don't believe. They are small.

This is the graveyard of importers, these importers are not supported. There are three reasons imports make it here. Firstly is because their source system has reached it's end of life and the source data model isn't changing any more so there are going to be no future updates. Secondly, that demand for them is so low that it is not viable to offer support for them as it makes no business sense (though the importer is here for people who want to delve into it).

Thirdly, that the source system is such a challenge to import from that the time typically taken for each import far out weights any sensible decision to try to support each individual import that would take hours per client with customisations.

Given all this, it looks like the only way to convert is to pay the conversion company online to do it at this point in time ($175 as of 12/11/14). They build it and do it.

Does Vbulletin does have any service for migration ?

I can do the import for you. I have done many and am very familiar with phpbb and vbulletin and many other forum scripts.

There is no official service.
