What I'm about to say has nothing to do with XF, so please don't take it that way.

vB5 is in a miserable situation and has been since before 'gold' release. It does far too much client side which is part of what slows it down. That's been my opinion since pre-release beta and remains my opinion today.

While vB5 was a great idea, it's implementation fails. And vB failed to heed warnings from Beta testers telling them it was not ready for prime-time. And it still isn't ready today.

Trust me i am speaking about the same issue right now! it doesn't mean i will abandon it because VB is what i use. Yes they are taking the wrong approach when coding it.

I reserve to have a different opinion. I have reported and scrubbed many bugs in JIRA since it was introduced, and have filed and tracked bug reports on vB4 since the very beginning of the alpha testing process.

And I won't even bother to take your xF bait in this thread. This about vB and the "vote for it in JIRA"-nonsense, nothing else.

Whenever you pop up in good threads relative to VB 5.x , i always look at your signature. Hence, there are people who look for improvements while others are looking to belittle and make things look miserable. That was what i meant and you and I know what that mean.

You have someone introducing ideas, let them be without making the situation look miserable (you can create your own topic for that), at least they are trying, better than staying on the side doing nothing which is not my approach.

I haven't abandoned vB either (not yet at least). But I have abandoned vB-5.

One more problem with vB-4 where a fix for a bug/security issue has to be fixed by a coder outside of vB and I will join many other people and completely abandon them.

Well you see what you guys are doing, degrading VB 5.x thread. This thread was introducing ideas and you came and said it is miserable don't bother with it.

That is the summary of your responses. I am not changing my mind. I change it when i see that I need to change it.

My dear Katie Hunter,

Get off your high horse over what member CELLARIUS said.

VB5 is rubbish. We have used it since February 2014 - paid good money for it in good faith - lost valuable members because of its malignant nature - and we have had nothing but a catalogue of trouble ever since.

I am not being miserable - but there comes a point when patience runs out.

I've added this to Jira, i personally think members list should take a new approach rather then columns being used every where on the forum.

Awesome.

I noticed search functions to search profile fields has been lost from Vb4 to Vb5. It would be nice to search profile fields too in the member list or search. Finding a member would be nicer with these functions.

Memberlist for groups is a great idea. I can't even tell who all is in my group.? lol
