DO attach your 'class_core.php' file here and let me have a look at it.

Oh and I'm confused because we have a folder for version 3.8.4 and a folder for version 4, like we updated, but then the config.php file I was just looking at says version 3.8.4 - I have been trying to get vBulletin's tech support to help me but they say they can't because I am using an old version and they only support versions 4 and 5. But then why do I have a folder that says version 4?

It's possible someone uploaded the version 4 file but it is not pointed to. The db error is being generated by the 3.8.4 version of the software so that is the active one.

Can you get in AdminCP? yoursite/admincp.php

Got it... On first look I see nothing wrong. I'd thought that maybe someone had edited the file using notepad - that causes errors.

When I go to that link it just says database error

I suspected as much.

The deal is, the software is unable to connect to the database. This could be for many reasons, including the lack of existence of said database.

Can you verify the existence of the database in the server?

I mean all the folders and everything are there and all of the .php files etc. is that what you mean?

The database in the server. The SQL. Not the files and folders, the database. Access the phpmysql in the server. Look for a database named "forum"

I will return shortly... Don't let my lack of replies dissuade you. Others will be along as well.

Usually, if every page is getting a database error, you either have a crashed table or a full session table. You really need to change the email in the config.php file to your own so you can have the database error emailed to you and then you can tell us what it is.

I just found out someone else is working on this who actually knows what they're doing in my company. Poor communication on our part. I will wait and see how that goes, so for now I guess I am all set. Thank you so much for your help, most forum sites like this, people rarely respond and when they do it's never as helpful as you all! Sorry for taking up your time! I will be back if they don't get it up and running. Thanks again!
