One thing I've wanted to see on one of these mods is how a similar mod for IP.Board (2.3.6) had setup. You had a bit more of a graphical display of which groups were displayed and could also sort them. Here's how it looked:

Also, perhaps add the option to link to the usergroup if you have leadership over it (via memberlist.php?usergroupid=<usergroup id>)?

It would be in that order, if that's what you mean. The image itself is from that mod I was talking about for IP.Board 2.3.6 (been about 6-7 years). I was thinking if you wanted to conform to how vB normally handles sortable items, list each group and then allow Admins to input the sort number it'd be (ie: 10, 20, 30, etc.) and then let 0 mean the group isn't listed, but that method can be a PITA if you have many usergroups to go through.

Yeah that would require quite a bit of coding, and probably some info added to the DB, IMO it is just to much for something that is not seen by the public, and is only for admin control.

I wouldn't think it would require as much work as you're giving it off as. I mean, you already have ways of displaying all of the usergroups and then throwing in some text fields to input the sort order has also been done (ie: forum sort). I just find the current method to be an even bigger PITA because I have to go back and forth between the usergroups and the mod settings to figure out where each group should go.

True, but how many times do you change the settings once they are set up?

For my community personally, we add and remove usergroups (staff and public) fairly often, so I wouldn't say it's necessarily uncommon.
