I would set the heights of the div containing the forums on forum home to the same height so they line up across the two columns.

BTW- is the two column layout on your forum home custom or a mod?

I would remove that text above the welcome banner, make that banner a link to your registration page and change that green color to black so that banner actually blends in and doesn't look out of place. :up:
