vBulletin need to put this legend on the payroll, seriously.

I cant agree more to that statement. There are zero help from vbulletin.com, most times questions aren't even answered and when they do decide to say something they speak in a language that few can understand. If it wasn't for Hippy vb would have much less customers and the once that staid would be very unhappy. He is just the best!

Hippy helped me a great deal on something! He is a great guy!
He is a really cool and smart guy

DJ Baxter helped me also on a newsletter (only my site crashed and messed up what he did).
Another great person on here.

There is a great resource because of guys like this. God bless them!!!!

Hey Wild Heart I speak V bulletin Language check it out...
Not only do they not upgrade their own forum...
Offer no colors...
I am going blind with all the lame pastel colors and brightness, sometimes after reading for hours on end I need a bit darker board...always have and always will...
Here is a sample of a classic V Bulletin response.

The issue is not in V bulletin software...
It was the install process or the server or the end user or the administrator...or your Browser...
Anything but V Bulletin...
We can not offer support outside of the software...

If I go buy a car from Chevy, even though they know, I drive on Public Roads and use a windshield from a different manufacturer...

They will try to fix the alignment of the vehicle, not tell me well you are driving on a crooked road...

If the glass keeps cracking for some weird reason...
They look at the alignment of the window frame, they do not tell me to go to the glass manufacturer to get it fixed...

I was having a very difficult time with my Norton Vault when only using win 8... ran fine on 7 and also using same browser,

The problem was I could not add a new user or modify the users account in any way, it would pop up so fast, I could see my admin name in the user name field, then it would reload and tell me I could not modify that account it was protected..>Well no shit...
I bought the software and could not add or modify users... instead of saying we will look into it,
I had no less than 5-7 responses stating it was outside of Vbulletin software...Ok so you know it is not a core issue, so find the answer...
That is what we all paid for...Continued Support not just Flat Code...

From my stand point, when I pay someone for a service and software, like my server Host,
(HOST ROCKET the Best support I have ever found for Server in 13 yrs)
If I have troubles, where everyone points a finger at the other person, and I can not get help, they help. and since it was inside of V bulletin Admin Panel...
They should have considered it an issue just to help their end users...
If nothing else...
Nope...

Hippy has been and still is a great coder...and trouble shooting is his middle name...

Hippy Trouble Shooter Coder the Man...see...

Without his help my site would be even more of a joke than it is currently...

Hippy always tells me to promote my site, since I have a whooping 35 members 28 I created..lol
I tell him no...
I could use the help to get some content, and post from users...
But I am not done setting up the basics yet still way to much to do...

Hippy Just called, he was just in a car wreck on the thruway...almost got taken out by speeding driver in rainy and icy roads...
No I was not on the phone with im when he wrecked...

He is fine just has to get car fixed and rig a headlight...

I am now going to say..

.Sure I donate to him for his help...

However he told me more than once that is not why he does it but he did appreciate it...

I can tell you this, I just sent him money to help him get by until his car gets fixed...

That is a friend helping a friend, I may not be able to smooth codes and read Hieroglyphics hell I had to look that word up....

But he does what he is good at and I can look stupid and help put his kids through college..lol
Just kidding I make decent change and for the amount of time he saves me I think I give 1/4th of that back to him in cash...prorated of course...
:p

Im not much of writer when it comes to how I feel about someone but I have to say something. HIPPY rocks and we all are lucky to have him. He saved my arse a few times and was understanding with me every time I broke something else and he had to fix it. Im proud to call him my friend. He taught me so much and I hope to pay it forward to anyone that can benefit one day. Thanks Hippy for everything you do to help us inexperienced noobs! Shout out to you too, justicechick.

This lovely lady was kind enough to help me edit my config file and make myself un-deletable as the admin.

Hats off to you, madam.

I hope our boy, Hippy, is all good. He's earned some excellent karma here at vb.org.

Glockie 02-17-2013 03:27 PM

Hippy helped me out massively on our forums.
He gladly asked for an admin account, and happily signed in and took time out of HIS OWN FREE TIME to fix a MASSIVE problem on my site.

If it was not for Hippy who helped me right away without asking for a SINGLE thing besides an account a big section of our forums would have been redundant.

I totally agree that HIPPY needs to be taken on as a member of staff for VB!!

I feel personally very guilty - I promised to buy the man a beer, or donate and I forgot.
I will donate HIPPY when you see this! I promise :p

So yes get HIPPY on your books VB - he's an asset who NEEDS to be on board, definitely.

Thank you SO VERY MUCH FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO IN THIS COMMUNITY HIPPY !!!

i for sure would think as a staff member he would bring a lot to the table..
not many people give as much time to this site as well as the bunch of time he has given to a bunch of people helping out off site....
thanks again hippy for everything..

Disco_Dave 03-11-2013 08:59 AM

I'd also to like to give a big shout out to Hippy, he as helped us now on two occasions now. A real good guy on here. Thanks again Hippy.

I would have never sorted out the problem on my site without hippy, numerous emails later and he did everything he could to help me, i wish more people were like that, thank you hippy once again

obglobal.net 03-22-2013 02:13 PM

Well, I've taken it the one step further, and have payed Hippy to sort out my forum head to toe. The dude's a champion. Best $50 I ever spent on the internet that my wife knows about.
