We created a custom theme to one of our clients matching Win8 metro in 2 colors

What's the problem? You can always use rel="nofollow".

All of the four blocks will be optional. And any of them can be easily disabled. The links block is just for demonstration - you can use it for any kind of content, not only for links. So I don't see any problem here :)
