I had the previous hosting company update to the new server's DNS. That was completed this morning, which coincided with the 1000's of database email errors I am getting.

Oh..so yeah, the database information you have is somehow incorrect. Triple check it with what (I assume) they gave you for server, port, username, password, then if it still isn't working you'll need to contact them about it.

well, I doubled check the username and PW supplied by the new hosting company and changed it, now when I go to the site it says:

The website encountered an error while retrieving http://www.droid-tech.net/forum.php. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.

quick question (disregard that last post), but do I need to to transfer anything from my old server's database??

This isn't really my area, but: hopefully you exported your entire database and imported it at the new server? If you mean do you have to change any other settings, I don't think so.
