I am on a VPS from ServInt. It is a little more but they have more disc space and bandwidth as well as excellent service all for $49 USD a month.

From what I can see you're linking to shared hosting plans.

You're on Essential VPS?

Have you ran into any limits with the RAM, do you have any caching etc enabled?

:)

DO NOT give up cPanel.

I'm currently with ASO, there is an affilate link on geekydesigns.com if you're so inclined.

They've provided great support. I'm currently on a cloud vps.

Downsides of almost any vps/dedicated server is backups you're on your own. But you now have 100% complete control over your software on the server.

This is the link to what Videx is talking about is anyone is interested http://www.webhostingbuzz.com/vps-web-hosting.php

That's a good deal TBH.

There is a huge difference in pricing between the UK and States even adjusting for conversion. If I could get the rates you guys are paying I'd be paying ++++ all. Take for example https://order.webhostingbuzz.com/order/details/7712 for roughly $50, over here I'm paying $100+. Granted the hardware is better I seem to be getting offered is better and there's no mention of backups but what really causes the cost difference?

Zach, I've got another thread in this forum for a quote I've been given. They've thrown everything in for me most importantly R1Soft, does it seem like a good deal?

Zachery 06-26-2011 10:07 PM

Who with?

vidahost.com

Glancing at R1Soft, it looks more like software than some sort of free service. i.e., You'll have to pay extra to keep that data in the cloud.

No problems at all with the ram. I used to have Xcache running but took it off as it messed up something I wanted to show in real time. But the server handles it fine. And their support is top-notch. The nice thing about it is you can upgrade only when you need to.

Yeah it's chargable but they've chucked it on for free.

Why not? I've never had cPanel on any of my servers. I do have webmin on one of mine right now, but only use it to easily read/delete all the spam email we get.
