Strange because I am in WYSIWYG mode and I still don't have a pencil. :(

I'm just able to resize it. Any ideas on what would cause that?

So the little A/A is showing as highlighted? And we are talking about attachments here, not images added to the page using [ img ] tags.

Okay, I've managed to get the pencil to show up by using an attachment. I select "left" and the preview image shows the test wrapping around it, however when I hit submit, the text is only on one line preceding the image.

EDIT: Never mind, I got it working. Thanks for your help! :)

Hello, mind telling me how you do it?
I can't even make the pencil to show.

I'm in WYSIWYG, using Firefox.

I double clicked the image and an image setting interface appear, but it disappear straight away after that.
I can't edit anything.

If it's disappearing right away, then you have something wrong with your style or files.

Create a new style with no parent:
  • Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Add New Style
  • Parent Style: No Parent Style
  • Title: Default vBulletin
  • Allow User Selection: Yes
  • Save
Then browse the site using that totally default vbulletin style - do you still have the same problem?

The forum was freshly installed, it's still empty and used for testing many things. I've reinstalled the forum completely from scratch and it's still the same. No pencil for the image and if I double clicked, an interface appear but it disappear straight away before I am able to edit anything. I'm using vb CMS articles to do this testing.

The only different thing that I did in nowadays installation was that I typed:

$config['Database']['dbtype'] -> I wrote 'mysqli' instead of the default 'mysql'

Not sure if I misunderstand the vb manual, thus I said it here.

Use something like firebug (in firefox) and see if it is having problems reading the javascript files. Some hosts have set up mod_security too strict and are therefore blocking the javascript files from being read.

I have firebug but my noob skill level doesn't even understand where to start when it comes to "see if it is having problems reading the javascript files". Mind if you can take a look in for a bit (I'll PM you the pass) or should I just open a ticket?

Lynne 01-08-2013 02:11 AM

If you have ticket support, I would recommend opening a ticket.

durruti 01-08-2013 02:26 AM

Will do.
