Support is getting out into the vb.com forums more often now. When vB4 was first released, there were a LOT of tickets put in all day long regarding bugs and other issues with the release. There was only time to answer tickets, no time for the forums. Now days, there aren't nearly as many tickets being put in regarding bugs/issues, and there is much more time for support to hit the forums. But, we do still occasionally miss threads (many of us look for threads with no replies and if you bump your own thread, then it no longer shows up in the search for replyless threads).

Sorry I was referring to vB.com support.

IF you are then quit wasting time posting duplicates and SEARCH for your answers... Lynne could not have said it better below!

Sorry if I came across short/abrupt/rude above but Lynne said it best and I follow the same idea.. don't reply if it's been answered countless times before.

You are not coming across as rude or anything. But what you and Lynne mentioned is the reality. It has been my experience here that a lot of users are very lazy and want everything to be handled to them in a silver platter. They don''t want to do the homework for themselves but expect the others to do it for them. And if they don''t get what they want then they scream oh the support is so bad here, where are the good old days and crap like that.

In the guys defence, the search sometimes doesnt bring up what you're looking for. Its a problem with all bulletin boards though. The search isnt intuitive, just looks for words. And good luck searching for 2 words or more. It completely spits out irrelevant results.

The search should be coupled with giving precedent to posts that have been rated highly. It may improve the results.

You cannot rate posts.

this is true but luckily as virtually all forums here are public you can simply search with Google by appending "site:vbulletin.org" to the end of your search. I use this type of search almost exclusively now on this site- far better than the built in search engine. I would go so far to say vBullein.org should consider adding a google search option on the advanced search page.
