Not that I know of. You should either create a stats custom phrase or hard code the link description. If there would have been already such a phrase you wouldn''t have the problem.

You can add custom phrases at Languages & Phrases in your Acp.

About forum buttons, can you post a screenshot of what exactly do you mean by it?

Yea. But nothing found that worked with vb 4.0.6

What are those called besides calling them forum buttons

I have seen them go by the name Tabs. Here you got a list of the tab mods for vb 4.0X
