To those that feel the need to discuss IE6, please note that the thread starter is asking for a modification/style that would allow vB4 to be viewed with IE6, nothing more.
Please do not abuse this thread to discuss anything other then the modification request itself. |
Honestly as someone considering upgrading to VB4 from 3.8 I'm glad I read this thread as I had no idea about these issues with IE6 and maybe 7; I just checked my Google Analytics and 41% of my traffic is from IE, and of that 15% is IE6, 14% IE7, and the rest IE8... 15% of 40% is about 6% of total traffic, the same as Safari and Chrome users- a large enough percentage to be concerned about. I don't fault Jelsoft for not making VB4 compatible with IE6, I'm sure there are far more advantages to dropping compatibility rather the jumping through hoops to maintain it, in a year VB4 will be in its prime and IE6 will be even less common then now... But I do hope someone makes a mod to give a decent VB4 experience, it would probably see me upgrade quicker.
