Of course they could have.

And I wouldn't claim they're democratic at all. Moderately tolerant, at best.

Those running 4.0.x - I notice a redraw "pause" when you go between different areas. I read a bunch about performance and with my users, that is more important than a snazzy new UI. What version is vbulletin.org running as I don't see the same issues here?

I agree on the feature comments but from what I see much of this will get ironed out a few 4.0.x releases down the road.

Ive spent countless hours sorting out performance issues with vb4 - but it now goes like a lubed up eel. and thats not slow.

check out the pageloads that Ive got, then bear in mind im quite http request intensive with lots of unique icons and images etc.

my two cents, vb4 is good. not great. but better than 3.6.8 - which was what I migrated from.

Why do the forum operators of actual forum software not inform the thread starter that either:
A. Their forum's search function isn't working properly. or
B. They tried to hide a thread in a hidden members only sub-forum THAT ISN'T SEARCHABLE via regular search?!?

Anyhow .. sorry to see this get off topic .. thanks to those who posted on the actual quality .. unfortunately you all seem to have really mixed opinions .. lol .. at this point I'll prob wait for the dust to settle with 4.0.3 and give it a go! Thanks for your feedback! :)
