I'd have to ask why your site is set to display emails anyway when the default settings never show an email address in vBulletin. If people are naive enough to post their email addresses in their posts than there is no helping that problem. Wouldn't consider them computer savvy though.

Their MSN, not their email. If you enter your email in the MSN field, it shows up on the memberlist / postbit.

You should educate your users about the hazards of that and put the appropriate protections in place so they are no visible to everyone. ;)
