"$vbphrase[memberinfo_visitormessage_reply]" does not appear to be in the phrases by default.

cant get this to show.. did exactly what you said.. but i dont see it.. what am i doing wrong i would love this what seems like simple mod..

what i did

As stated above, $vbphrase[memberinfo_visitormessage_reply] does not seem to exist in the phrases. You created an anchor without a string. Replace $vbphrase[memberinfo_visitormessage_reply] with text and you should see the link.
