I have one question about 3.8.4....... when i purchased it was 3.8.3 and now first time i am going to upgrade it

Please tell me if i upload all the files to my server, will it not replace all the settings i have made on my server before? or what files do i need to upload it and replace them with older ones? and other files i can keep it........... for example if i just copy everything and paste it there, it will upload the new admincp files, images folder will be replaced with my existing skins perhaps deleted or some changings made?

What should be the step one? and do i really have to configue congi.php file again? can i just leave the old file on my system to work it fine?

No your settings will not be replcaed.

Only tings that will change are if you did some "hardcoding" into your templates, which you can or do not have to update. They will be highlighted in red for any changes that are recommended to be change/updated. :)

Make a backup or copy the changed images to your desktop, then upload all the new files. Then replace your images in your board as you see fit. :D

Also, yes you can leave the config.php file alone. When uploading the file will be called "config.php.new", no need to update or modify this file.

I'm not sure if this was posted here, but:

Note: We have been informed that the fixes put in for PHP 5.3.0 date requirements actually make the forum throw white pages for PHP 4.x users. Please do not download this current release unless you are using PHP 5.1.0 or newer. A new 3.8.4 will be deployed in place tomorrow, and I will update this announcement thread again at that point. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Thank goodness I'm using PHP 5 then!

thansk Sir

Updated successfully yesterday, there was 1 error that i couldn't understand but i just ignored it and rest was fine, all the tables were upgraded and everything ran smoothly a part from that error. Now it shows my current version is 3.8.4 so i assume everything is okk now

Thanks for your help

what was the error? (I wouldnt ignore that, you may have database issues down the line)

1 issue with a script but a simple file edit corrected that. 2 minutes and 2 styles where updated without any problems. Everything works as it should.

Haha, that's a typo. I meant to say I'd just upgraded to 3.8.3 which meant I upgraded to 3.8.4 a few hours after I had just done an upgrade which was a little frustrating. :)

Ah, I see ;D

Installed, but forgot to save my images into one neat little package before. :(

Oh well, if I redo them enough, I might learn what I'm not suppose to do.
