I use to use dreamweaver, but now i use Notepad++ because it is much better for editing php files. The only bad thing about notepad++ is the search which is unfortunately character limited

If you don't want to install Notepad++ but just want to try it out, there is a portable version here: http://portableapps.com/apps/develop...padpp_portable

I use Dreamweaver (since college) but not extensively rely on it.

That's actually the version I run, also Firefox from Portable Apps, I use the no-script add-on as well and many virus's etc will try to infect but since it was on the flash drive it tried the normal Program Files location but no firefox there :D as it's on the flash drive.

I'd ask how many of you guys legally own the software, but I'd get lies :)

I'm broke currently (new baby + 7 b-days in July from kids to wife to close friends of the family!), yes I own it rofl but since I use notepad++ much more I wish they had an easy return policy! I know others who don't and it kinda twist my belly but hey you can't help what some friends do but you watch yourself around them eh? Yeah and me too, I was unaware of FTP features... /me goes to investigate this.. right over my head again!

It is under the plugins menu. Since I don't recall ever installing any plugins, I am guessing it is a standard plugin that ships with the software.

I will admit that I don't use Notepad++ much anymore. It has a glitch in Windows 7 where the search window will not close. It just goes to an annoying outline that you can't get rid of.

The software that I primarily use is Webuilder 2008. It supports all the languages I need support for, inline PHP debugging, code folding, HTML and CSS preview, FTP publishing, syntax highlighting, code formatting, loading pages in the browser of my choice and a lot more. I found it to be a very suitable upgrade from Homesite 5.5.

For WYSIWYG editing, I have NVU installed on my computer. Its free and open source so the price is just right for me. It has most of the features you would need in a Web Editing package. NVU also runs on Windows, Linux and OSX machines. I just like the interface of Webuilder 2008 more.

As a WYSIWYG editor nvu did have some promise, but it died a few years back.

http://bluegriffon.org/ took over, but I haven't used it, prefer to do my stuff by hand.
