I think it is about time that they try and do something...I mean they only have been talking about it for the last 60 years :rolleyes:

What would the insurance companies do if they aren't making 100's of billions of dollars a year and bankrupting people...

This country is all about money and greed. No one cares about anyone.

While I agree something needs to be done, I think our government has proven time and again they are incapable of improving anything ;)

Well as someone who doesn't currently have healthcare of any kind, I am all for reforming and a national plan to help people get healthcare. I don't want free healthcare, just affordable healthcare. The recent credit mess and the subsequent weakening of the British Pound however made it impossible to continue the $1500 a month premium for healthcare insurance for my family. While the pound is currently improving, I doubt I'll be able to re-establish healthcare coverage within the next 18 months which makes it all the more difficult. The reason being is for the last year we had to eat through our savings and no longer have the funds for the deductibles should we require hospitalization.

Without having healthcare insurance, we can just sign a paper saying we are unable to pay and not pay for the hospital bill at all. However that doesn't cover preventative care or regular checkups.
