IPB have always had a visual superiority over vbulletin. I don't expect that to ever change, They (jelsoft) don't know how to slice their GDK ;). There are some areas (which I'm tired of posting) where IPB have always been ahead of vbulletin (permissions system being one) but overall vbulletin is my choice.
I recently tinkered with IPB 3.0 and like how it performs, feels and then I went into the template system. Hmmmm, suffice to say I closed it down after that. I'm sure I can easily style for the ipb software but I am not willing to adapt. I voted IpB 3 because I'm not taking this poll seriously. |
I'm going to go with vBulletin here. For me, I already posted enough about why I prefer the software elsewhere, including a few relatively long blog entries, an FAQ and a fanlisting, but I'm gonna say I prefer the current version to Invision Power Board 3.0, and I can definitely say I'm going to try and likely prefer vBulletin 4 to IPB 3.0.

I like nothing about IPB over VB :D VB is the software for me!

I use IPB from the members point of view on several forums and find it a royal pain, it looks good, the interface is neat but for me that is it,the content is bitty and unfriendly.
I recently tried their demo and again thought the ACP menu system looked very neat, this did not mean it was "useable" though. Looking at their website , is it me or is it hard to find any real information or help links? The free forum offerings appear to have better sites than IPB . |
This poll is about as insightful as if you were to post a poll on a Mac forum asking users if they preferred Mac or PC.

...not. |
I'm sure the people at IB will come up with things I like on the visual side that I prefer over ipb. On an overall appearance, I am quite confident in saying it won't have a visual superiority over IPB. It hasn't yet, and I don't expect it will. Unless the style previews shown are fake.
I'll see when beta is released and be the judge. |
who cares which is better - we still have to pay.
