Private browsing 3.5 (should'v been codenamed Pornfox)
Much Faster
HTML 5 ( New gecko engine )
TraceMonkey js engine
Location aware browsing.

5 most notable feature..
though it will take bit of time for html 5 to kick in.. i mean even css 3 is under exposed after good 2-3 years, but definately will set benchmark for other browsers.

Neither HTML 5 or CSS 3 have reached a Recommended status from the W3C. HTML 5 is still a working draft and can change drastically before it is finalized. Different CSS3 modules are in flux still with most at the Working Draft status and there can be large changes before they are finalized. They haven't even finalized the basics of CSS3 yet.

CSS 2.1 just reached Recommended Status in April of 2009. This means that the specification was adopted and it is able to be recommended for use in web development. Before a specification reaches Recommended status, it is risky to use in Web Development because it can change at any time.

As for XHTML 2, that working group is still getting parts of XHTML 1.1 to the Recommended Stage so they can actually start working on XHTML 2.

The W3C needs to stop taking so long at setting standards. The longer they take, the more impatient browser developers get. This is why we have different ways to get useful technology to work in browsers.. such as transparency, rounded corners, etc.

One has to ask.. if the W3C wants standards as much as they say they do, why don't they step up their game and get them set?

Anyone know how well FF3.5 works with CSS3? Is it any better than 3.0, or pretty much the same?

I only lost two add-ons (out of about 7 or 8, I think) when upgrading to 3.5, and they were non-essential.

HMBeaty 07-01-2009 04:48 PM

I upgraded my add-ons myself :D Ran into too many that weren't compatible. Easy fix though :D

KTBleeding 07-01-2009 06:22 PM

The only ones that threw up an issue for me were Firebug (but they have a beta update available), and.. : drum roll : Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant.. Pffft. I don't even know why that's installed, as I never approved it.. whatever.

And to answer my own previous question: (via css3.info)
From the 43 selectors 43 have passed, 0 are buggy and 0 are unsupported (Passed 578 out of 578 tests)

YAY!

iogames 07-02-2009 02:25 PM

Oh no! I lost 50% of my add-ons last time :)

I will wait a couple of months ;)

Ah well, I guess either way it'll be another 10 years before all the other browsers (mainly IE) support it anyways, so it's not really usable at this point..

Such as? Firefox 3.5, Internet Explorer 8, Safari 4, Chrome 2 and Opera 10 all support HTML 5 :)
